Green detox smoothies are easy to make and taste delicious especially when you find ingredients you really like. I know a lot of people like to add spinach and kale to their green smoothies but I prefer to add lettuce as it has a mild flavour than spinach and kale. Also it is easier for me to eat raw lettuce than raw spinach and kale.

Detox smoothies are an easy way to help with weight loss and to flush  toxins out of your body. It is an easy way because you got to enjoy your smoothies and cleaning your body at the same time, isn’t that amazing? Keto diet is all about losing weight, maintaining a healthy body and mind ,this green detox smoothie can help you achieve that. It is important to include it in your diet.

Detox smoothies usually contain fresh fruits and vegetables. It is a good way of including more fruits and vegetables to your diet. However where fresh fruits and vegetables are not easy to find, frozen fruits and vegetables can be used. These fruits and vegetables contain fibre, vitamins, antioxidants and other healthy nutrients. Detox green smoothies also contain large amounts of water which helps to hydrate the body. All these will, energies your body, help you look and feel better.

Water, ice, milk, lemon, ginger are other ingredients found in green detox smoothies. The the name green smoothie came from adding green leafy vegetables like kale, spinach or lettuce which gives the smoothie a green colour. Despite this green colour and the green vegetable in this green detox smoothie, it tastes amazing and usually can’t taste the leafy vegetable.

This green detox smoothie has cucumber, romaine lettuce, mixed berries, avocado and kiwi as fruits and vegetables. However you can add, remove or replace with fruits and vegetables of your choice to find flavours which suit your taste buds. Remember to choose fruits and vegetables which are low in carbs and keto friendly. You can use the link to know which ones: Food to eat on keto diet.

Kiwi fruit

This my favourite green detox smoothie recipe. I like the mild taste of romaine lettuce, the sweetness of kiwi, creamness of avocado, refreshing of cucumber and the sweet and sour of the berries.

Cucumbers contain vitamin K, C, B, fibre, antioxidants, copper, potassium and magnesium. Cucumbers keep the body hydrated due to the high water content they have. Cucumbers are made up of about 95% water. Cucumbers are great for keto diet because they are low in calories.

In this recipe I have used Romaine lettuce as it is the most nutritious compared to other lettuce types. It is packed with vitamin C,K and high in minerals like potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. It is also low in calories.
